Youngstown, Ohio December 28,2016 Judge Theresa Dellick announced on December 20, 2016 that Assistant Prosecutor Carla Baldwin will replace Magistrate Anthony D’Apolito, who was elected a Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas- General Division Judge. Baldwin will become Magistrate effective January 5, 2017. At that time, she will step down from her position at the Prosecutor’s Office.
Baldwin brings many years of experience to the Magistrate’s post. At Juvenile Court, Atty. Baldwin specialized in delinquency prosecution for the Prosecutor’s Office. Prior to this assignment she was a Prosecutor in the General Division. As Magistrate, she will handle arraignments, traffic court, and delinquency filings. Baldwin is a high school alumna of Calvary Christian Academy; she earned her Bachelor’s degree from Capital University and her Juris Doctor from the WMU Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Baldwin said the job will be a new step in her legal career. Instead of presenting evidence to judges, she will now decide cases in court.
“I’m looking forward to the opportunity,” she said. “I’m very excited about it.”
“The Court will be well-served with her as Anthony D’Apolito’s successor. Carla Baldwin brings with her a wealth of legal experience and the right judicial temperament to the bench. Anthony D’Apolito was a stellar and talented Magistrate and will be greatly missed. His energy and work ethic will make him a valuable part of the Common Pleas General Division Court.”- Theresa Dellick, Judge
