[ARCHIVED] Auditor Launches Latest Transparency Initiative

Auditor Launches Latest Transparency Initiative
"Tyler Citizen Transparency"  Module

Mahoning County, OH - Auditor Ralph Meacham is pleased to announce his latest effort in government  transparency  -"Tyler Citizen Transparency."

As part of the County's accounting software, this service integrates and organizes Mahoning . County financial data into easy to read graphs and charts.  Citizens can access the transparency module online to examine revenues, expenditures, and budgets. Data can be organized by category, department, government area, fund and vendor, and will be updated continuously.

For example, taxpayers will be able to:

•review total spending to date
•see how funds are appropriated by department
•examine which vendors receive payments in a given year
•research spending for health care and benefits.

Interactive charts and graphs allow citizens to easily analyze County financial data.

"This latest addition to my transparency initiative is very exciting.  The module is user-friendly and will be enlightening for our citizens as well as helpful to other government entities, at no additional costs to taxpayers'' Auditor Meacham stated. " OhioCheckbook.com  will still be available through the Auditor's website, also at no  cost to the County," 'the Auditor continued.

The module can be found under the Transparency tab of the Mahoning County Auditor's home page at http://auditor.mahoningcountyoh.gov.
As always, Auditor Meacham encourages taxpayers 'to call his office with any questions or comments.
