Mahoning County Informal Assessment Review Sessions
Oakhill Reappraisal Information Center Now Open

Mahoning County, Ohio - Mahoning County Auditor Ralph Meacham invites taxpayers to informal assessment review sessions being held at the Oakhill Renaissance Place in Youngstown.

Ohio Law requires all county auditors to establish a current value of real property once every six (6) years and Auditor Meacham strongly encourages property owners to review their new value for Tax Year 2017.  These values can be found on the Auditor's website or the first half property tax bills which the County Treasurer will mail this month.

"After reviewing their value, if a taxpayer has questions or concerns, I encourage them to visit the Reappraisal Information Center.  The purpose of these sessions is to give taxpayers an opportunity to speak directly to an appraiser who can explain their appraisal," Auditor Meacham stated.

No appointments are necessary for the informal residential or agricultural reviews. Commercial and industrial property owners can view their new value on the website or tax bills, but must call
(330) 740-2758 to schedule an appointment to speak to a commercial appraiser.

The Reappraisal Information Center will be open in the Mahoning County Oakhill Renaissance Place located at 345 Oakhill Avenue (Entrance A) in Youngstown from 8:30am to 4:00 p.m. on the following dates:

February  12, 13, 14, 20, 21, 22 and 28

March  1, 2, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30

If a property owner wants a formal hearing on assessed values, complaints against the valuation of real property for Tax Year 2017 must be filed and received in the Auditor's Office on or before 4:30
p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2018.

Auditor Meacham also encourages taxpayers to visit the Auditor's page on Mahoning County's website at www.mahoningcountyoh.gov  for information on the reappraisal, tax rates, reductions and much more.
