The Board of Mahoning County Commissioners, in partnership with the City of Struthers and the City of Campbell, have been awarded the 2018 Community Housing Impact and Preservation (CHIP) Program Grant through the State of Ohio Development Services Agency’s (ODSA) Office of Community Development.
The 2 year grant in the amount of $850,000.00 (Eight Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars) consists of both Community Development Block Grant and HOME program Funds.
The CHIP grant project will include: Private Owner Rehabilitation, Private Owner Home Repair and required Fair Housing Components. Residency and Income guidelines do apply for eligibility to apply to these programs.
There will be one public meeting in each community to discuss the benefits of the CHIP Grant and release applications for those wishing to apply. Public meeting times and dates are as follows:
October 10, 2018, 6:00 pm: Campbell City Hall, 351 Tenney Avenue, Campbell, OH 44405
October 11, 2018, 6:00 pm: Austintown Senior Center, 112 Westchester Drive, Austintown, OH 44515
October 17, 2018, 6:00 pm: Struthers Administration Building, 6 Elm Street, Struthers, OH 44471
After these public meetings, applications for assistance will be available at: Mahoning County Commissioners Office, 21 W. Boardman Street, Youngstown, OH 44503; The Mahoning County Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control Program, 108 Westchester Drive, Austintown, OH 44515; Campbell City Hall and Struthers Administration Building at the above addresses, as well as on the websites of all three partnering organizations
