Mahoning County Board of Commissioners Adopts Resolution ForMotorola Solutions: Spillman Technologies
Enhanced 911 Upgrades: Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)
Mahoning County Sheriff: Record’s Management System (RMS)
1) Locally Hosted CAD System, funded through E911 and 911 Assessment Fund Reserves. Total purchase cost is $766,794.00 plus 10 years of maintenance at an average cost of $76,246 with the 1st year free. The system will allow shared information between Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) and enhance shared services and communication between the Telecommunicators and the first responders. The project allows a shared CAD system that provides better access and sharing of information. The recommendation was made in cooperation with the PSAPs and the E911 Executive Board to move forward with the project. Each PSAP will have the ability to share information along with the ability to have some customization for their unique needs. The project is moving forward and addressing State mandates for inter-operability between PSAPs.
2) Locally Hosted RMS, funded by General Fund revenues and Inter-Local Agreements with participating Police agencies. Total purchase cost is $634,278.00 plus 10 years of maintenance at an average cost of $95,358.67 with the 1st year free. The agreement was entered into on behalf of the Mahoning County Sheriff and the following participating agencies: Austintown Township, City of Canfield, Beaver Township, Mill Creek MetroParks, Poland Township, and Milton Township. The Agencies will share a hosted RMS system along with the City of Youngstown and Boardman Township which have entered into direct agreements with Motorola. Each policing agency will have the ability to share information along with the ability to have some customization for their unique needs. The system will work in conjunction with the CAD to provide better access to the Telecommunicator and the first responder.
