2019 Dog Licenses For Sale
Auditor Meacham Partnering with Dog Warden

Mahoning County - Auditor Meacham is announcing that 2019 dog licenses can be purchased through February 28, 2019. There are several ways to purchase Mahoning County dog licenses: in person at the locations listed on page two, through the mail to the Auditor's Office or Dog Warden's Office as well as online through the Auditor's and Dog Warden's pages at: www.mahoningcountyoh.gov. Licenses purchased by February 28 are $20. After February 28, there is a $20 penalty assessed per license.

The online dog license sales function has been updated and improved from previous years. Dog owners will find it to be efficient and user-friendly. A fee of 2.4% of the transaction ($1.49 minimum) is charged when purchasing your license online. If someone finds a dog that is wearing a current Mahoning County dog license, they can obtain the owner phone number and first name through the Locate an Owner search function using the dog license number.

The County Auditor and the County Dog Warden share many responsibilities in the licensing process and are working together to serve county dog owners.

To ensure all dogs are registered pursuant to the requirements in the Ohio Revised Code, the Dog Warden's Office will be canvassing neighborhoods throughout the County beginning April 15, 2019. "Be sure to register your dog by February 28, 2019 to avoid a penalty, and to assist us in their safe return if your dog becomes lost. Also, please have your license information and proof of a current rabies vaccination readily available if we come to your home," states Dianne L. Fry, Mahoning County Dog Warden.

If a resident receives a notice for a dog that has passed away or they no longer own, they should notify the Auditor's Office through their website or by phone.

Auditor Meacham and Dog Warden Fry encourage dog owners to call either of their offices with questions or concerns.  The Dog Warden can be reached at 330-740-2205.
