BOIL NOTICE - JACKSON/MILTON, CRAIG BEACH WATER SERVICE AREA
On Wednesday, October 27, 2021 the Mahoning County Metro Water Sewer District experienced a loss of water pressure due to a waterline break. This failure affected customers of the Mahoning County Metro Water Sewer District located in Jackson-Milton and the Craig Beach service areas.
Due to the low water pressure that resulted from the waterline break, the Mahoning County Sanitary Engineering Department (MCSE) is recommending that all Craig Beach customers in the affected area boil their water that is used for drinking and cooking. A rolling boil for one minute is adequate.
MCSE is also asking those customers in the affected Jackson-Milton, Craig Beach area to please conserve water and keep usage to a minimum at the greatest extent possible until water can be fully restored.
We will notify those in the boil alert area of Craig Beach as soon as possible as to when the water has been tested and considered safe. The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency is now requiring that all public water systems follow this procedure for all depressurization of drinking water lines.
This department will appreciate your cooperation and understanding as steps are taken to restore full water service. If you have any questions, please contact the Mahoning County Sanitary Engineering Department at (330) 793-5514.
