Auditor Uses Data for School District Comparison
14 School Districts in Mahoning County
Mahoning County – Mahoning County Auditor Ralph Meacham is again releasing a summary of School District Financial Statistics for the 14 school districts in Mahoning County. The data was compiled from:
- The FY2021 Cupp Report, which is generated by data supplied by each school district to the Ohio Department of Education
- 5 Year forecasts provided by each school district,
- Salary data provided by the school district treasurers.
This report is in no way meant to be comprehensive, but rather to show relevant financial and demographic data to taxpayers in a comparative format. All information contained in the report is public information, as is the information available in the datalinks sited in the footnotes.
“On average, school districts in Mahoning County receive 59% of property tax proceeds, which the County Auditor is responsible for distributing. This year we anticipate distributing $160 million in tax revenues to schools. I believe taxpayers are interested in and entitled to know how Mahoning County school districts compare to each other,” Auditor Meacham stated.
Useful data such as total expenditures-per-pupil and percent increase/decrease in average daily membership (ADM) is included in the report.
The complete summary is posted on the Financial Transparency page of the County Auditor’s website for public viewing.
