[ARCHIVED] H.B. 377 Bill Signing

PRESS RELEASE

H.B. 377 Bill Signing

The Board of Mahoning County Commissioners would like to acknowledge and thank Governor DeWine for today’s signing of HB 377; providing 500 million in funding to the 32 Appalachian Counties.

We would also like to thank President Biden, Senator Sherrod Brown, and Congressman Tim Ryan for providing the $500 million in American Rescue Plan funds that are making the Ohio Builds Appalachia initiative possible. This landmark legislation, is helping families across the nation recover from the pandemic, rebuilding the country’s crumbling infrastructure, creating tens of thousands of good paying jobs, and placing America on the path to a better, brighter future.

As Governor DeWine said in the press release announcing the launch of Ohio Builds, comprehensive investment in Appalachia is long-overdue. Thanks to the American Rescue Plan the long-overdue investment will be made.

Commissioners Rimedio-Righetti, Traficanti, and Ditzler, are looking forward to learning more about Ohio Builds and to ensuring that communities across Mahoning County benefit from this American Rescue Plan funded program.
