Mahoning County Juvenile Court Receives Record RECLAIM Ohio grants in 2016
Youngstown, Ohio August 22, 2016
The Mahoning County Juvenile Court has scheduled a press conference for Tuesday August 23, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Mahoning County Juvenile Court to announce a record allocation of state and federal funding through the RECLAIM Ohio Grant. RECLAIM Ohio Grants allow counties to compete for federal funding that flows through the State of Ohio, into communities to allow them to address the issues of delinquency on a local level.

The Mahoning County Juvenile Court has been a leader in implementing and administering programs that reduce delinquency and recidivism and increase the probability of a youth being rehabilitated. Some programs include Mediation, Counseling, Faith-based Counseling, Boys and Girls Programming and Diversion.

As a result of the success of these programs, the Court has increased its allocation every year, and this year marks a record, for the Court and the County.

“The key is not only to be tough on delinquency, but to be smart on delinquency. By implementing these programs, we have been able to reduce delinquency and recidivism
