Juvenile Issues
The following topics will be presented: jurisdictional issues among specialty divisions, an overview of the abuse, dependency, neglect, child support, visitation, custody and parentage dockets, handling of specialty dockets, addressing family dynamics, courtroom practice and procedure, juvenile protection orders, contempt of court, pro se litigants, and permanency hearings. This training will aid participants in understanding the complex juvenile issues that face legal practitioners when addressing cases dealing from paternity to delinquency. Topics that both influence and impact the development of youth and parenting will be discussed. Focus on attorney preparation for court proceedings and what is expected by the bench will be highlighted. Highlighting the seminar will be Juvenile Judges Pamela Rintala, Thomas Baronzzi and Theresa Dellick and Magistrates Anthony D’Apolito and Monty . Magistrate Jack Pico will moderate the discussion.
